Otolaryngology Surgical APP Program Overview

The Otolaryngology Surgical Advanced Practice Provider (APP) 研究员hip is an intensive 12-month advanced training program. Your training will be comprised of parallel didactic and clinical curriculums, which will provide you with a solid foundation in the diagnosis and management of conditions common to the ear, 鼻子, 和喉咙, as well as the outpatient, 住院病人, surgical management.

研究员 will have exposure to head and neck surgery related to benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck region, general and pediatric Otolaryngology, including the evaluation and management of common ear, 鼻子, 和喉咙 disorders in the adult and pediatric population, as well as Otology and Neuro-otology for the evaluation and management of hearing and balance disorders. Upon completion of the program, fellows will be prepared to:

  • 伤检分类, 评估, treat and manage ear, 鼻子, 和喉咙 problems, be an independent first assistant in the operating room.
  • Care for patients of all ages with 医疗 and surgical disorders of the ears, the upper respiratory and upper alimentary systems and related structures, the head and neck.
  • Carry out diagnostic evaluations of patients with otolaryngology disorders.
  • Carry out the surgical and nonsurgical management of otolaryngologic disorders, including rehabilitation and appropriate referrals.

The goal of the program is to help you grow and develop the surgical, 医疗, critical thinking skills required to build a successful career as a Physician Assistant in Otolaryngology.

Accreditation

The Accreditation Review Commission on 教育 for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Clinical Postgraduate Program status to the Otolaryngology Surgical Advanced Practice Provider (APP) 研究员hip sponsored by Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.

The voluntary accreditation process through ARC-PA provides applicant programs the opportunity to demonstrate compliance with the approved accreditation standards while demonstrating a structured educational experience. While the process is voluntary, it provides programs an external validation of their educational offering.
